Scottish Community Foundation
The Society is associated with the Scottish Community Foundation which is a charity dedicated to strengthening communities by awarding grants that make a genuine difference to the lives of local people.
The Scottish Community Foundation was set-up in 1996 to provide funding for registered charities and community groups, and works with a range of companies such as Dunfermline Building Society, other individuals, charitable trusts, as well as voluntary and government agencies.
This allows us to allocate and donate funds for charitable and community based projects on an equitable and effective basis.
Through the Scottish Community Foundation we are specifically supporting:
- training and education projects for the young and not so young
- development of fresh new Scottish talent
- improvement schemes in local communities
Charities and community groups the length and breadth of Scotland received grants last year. Below is a selection of those that we supported recently:
- Maritime Rescue Institute Stonehaven
- The Pavement Scotland
- Yusaf Youth Initiative Dundee
- Caithness Deaf Care
- Friends of the Birnie Child Development Centre
- Real Inverness
- Fairway Fife
- Childrens Parliament Edinburgh
- Paragon Ensemble Glasgow
- Johnstone Writers Group
- 7th Stirling (Beechwood) Scout Group
