Dunfermline Building Society statement on Nationwide Building Society acquisition

The announcements made today (Monday, March 30, 2009) by The Bank of England and Nationwide Building Society ensure it is business as usual for the Members and staff of Dunfermline Building Society.

All Dunfermline Building Society branches, retail sites and the head office, as well as all members of staff, have transferred to Nationwide, the world's largest building society. The business will continue to trade as Dunfermline Building Society, complementing the other brands already operating within the Nationwide Group.

Both announcements ensure all savers and residential mortgage holders will continue to be members of a mutual organisation and one that is sound and stable, with a strong association with Scotland. All Dunfermline Building Society customers will continue to be able to use all of the existing channels - branches, telephone and post - for transactions without interruption.
