Proud Pamela shows off medals to colleagues

Pamela Mitchell at Dunfermline Building Society has won two gold medals at the recent Summer Special Olympic Games as part of the Disability Sport Fife Team.

She won medals in the singles indoor bowling and the pairs indoor bowling alongside Darryl Stewart at this years Games in Leicester. The Games are aimed to build skills and self-esteem while participating in year-round sports events and training. Designed to appeal to a variety of people, the Special Olympics has 30 sports to choose from, without prohibiting age or skill level.

Pamela said:

“I really enjoy taking part and I get to go to great places. The Games are hard going, but when you win a medal, it makes it all worthwhile!


She has competed in indoor bowling and netball categories and won a number of gold and bronze medals. Pamela has previously participated at eight other venues including Glasgow, Wales and even New York.
