Dunfermline Building Society raises £3,000 for cancer charities in fundraising drive

Employees and customers of Dunfermline Building Society have raised a massive £3,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support and Leukaemia Research, after a huge charity drive day on Friday 12th March.

The charity drive was part of the Dunfermline’s Corporate Responsibility Day and included a number of coffee mornings across the branches, plus fundraiser incentives, such as raffles and cake stalls. Employees even put together a cookbook of personal recipes for collegues to buy. The day finished on a high with a race night at Caledonia House in Dunfermline. The event was attended by over 60 members of employees, along with their friends and family.

The most recent fundraising efforts follows the successful blood drive event which was held at Caledonia House in December, to help local girl Sammi Bradley, as well as the thousands of people in Scotland who suffer from blood related illnesses.

Helen Robertson, Corporate Communications at the Dunfermline said:

“We’re extremely proud of all our employees and customers who helped contribute towards raising the £3,000. Raising this much money is no easy feat, and everyone did a marvellous job. The money will now be spilt between our two chosen charity partners, and we hope to continue to add to the amount raised as the year goes on.”

Anyone who wishes to make a contribution to Macmillan Cancer Support or to Leukaemia Research can drop into their local branch and speak to a member of staff.
